Our gravel riding weekends explore the remote wilderness of the Cambrian Mountains. With miles upon miles of off-road gravel routes to be discovered, this is an ideal location for some epic adventure cycling. Following a network of bridleways, forestry tracks and quiet country lanes, our routes traverse rugged moorlands, follow rivers and skirt upland lakes. The spectacular landscape will take your breath away.

This weekend isn't about technical riding, although some parts of the route will test your bike handling skills. We won't be racing either. This is about challenging yourself in a different environment, and having fun exploring this wild Welsh landscape. With miles of little known gravel tracks to be explored, our local guides know their way around these mountains, and know the best routes for a memorable gravel cycling adventure.

The best bikes for this tour are cyclo-cross or gravel bikes. You can also use hard-tail mountain bikes, hybrid or e-hybrid bikes. If you need advice on bike selection, get in touch.

Here's an overview of what you can expect on this gravel bike tour:

Check into your accommodation from 4pm. After welcome drinks and dinner, relax in the lounge bar or take a wander down to the historic Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls.

Saturday and Sunday

On both days, after a hearty Welsh breakfast, we'll be heading out on the road, and up into the Cambrian Mountains. There are numerous route options, and we'll discuss these with you. We'll take into account the group's ability and preferences, but you can expect rides of between 20-40 miles each day, with some stiff climbing up to the mid Wales uplands followed by thrilling descents. We'll meet up with our support vehicle for refreshment stops, and there will be a cafe stop for lunch.

On Sunday, we'll aim to be back at the accommodation by mid afternoon, so that you can freshen up and get going for home in good time.

Your base for the weekend will be the 4* Hafod Hotel, in the historic village of Devil’s Bridge at the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales. You can look forward to home-cooked bar food, a great selection of real ales, and comfortable armchairs and sofas to relax in. From the hotel, you're a short walk away from the world-famous Devil’s Bridge waterfalls, and the charming Rheidol Valley steam railway for a scenic journey to the Victorian seaside town of Aberystwyth.
